"You're going to Cormount? Ah, of course. Head north past Elden Root. You'll see a Temple of Y'ffre to the east, but keep going until you cross the bridge. You'll want to mind yourself around the locals, as they've never been so fond of outsiders, but try the Green Leaf Tavern, it's one of the few places you may feel welcome."

.::The Green Leaf Tavern::.

This bosmeri tavern and inn is composed of three tree-shaped structures.

The main hall is accessed from the ground, with an area for signing in and paying if you plan to spend the night. Some patrons gather here at the few tables, usually waiting for companions or settling down for a drink.

Out through this first chamber is the walkway, elevated around fifteen feet off of the forest's floor. On busy nights, this area can become crowded with guests.

Straight across you'll find the kitchen, where chefs prepare traditional bosmeri food and drink. If you're expecting bread, beer and wine you'll be sorely disappointed, but grab a mug of jagga and if you're feeling brave try a bowl of fried bee larvae. Whatever you do, don't attempt to order fruit, a salad or other vegetables, the chefs will likely take offense... and you don't want that.

To the left of the kitchen the walkway leads upward into the inn, where you'll find beds, a warm fire and a table. Extra animal furs are rolled up in corners, ready to be laid out on the floor.

If you find The Green Leaf too small or busy for you and your many companions, the alchemist's home, west down the road, is often available for rent.

The Green Leaf is most active on Thursday evenings, with traders coming south from eastern Malabal Tor and Reaper's March, as well as many more coming north from Haven and Elden Root. While Cormount isn't known as the friendliest place to outsiders, the Green Leaf does it's best to be a sanctuary to all.

Cormount is at the top of this Map.
Arrive for RP anytime between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM (PST).
You may need to complete The Black Sap's Hold to be properly phased.
Joining The Dominion Accord will help with phasing and coordination.
If it interests you, feel free to RP as a barmaid, chef, etc.

Almost completely changed up the thread to fully explain the "project".

If you're curious about these minor plotlines, they are meant to be "quests" that can usually be wrapped up in one sitting but might have implications for future events.

The events are meant to be smaller in scope, affecting only a handful of people, and allowing people to ignore them if they / their character wants to.

A bomb going off in the middle of the tavern is NOT a minor plotline. A shady stranger checking out of the tavern and leaving behind a note signed by a Daggerfall Covenant captain is.

An invasion by daedra is NOT a minor plotline. A missing citizen and scream heard far into the woods is.

Epherus was found at the Green Leaf Tavern, eating fohana (description in profile).

He mentioned a wood orc had been through, and that he had taken off to the east. After meeting plenty of people at the Green Leaf, Epherus left and Krolg came in looking for someone to help him past some bandits. He had learned the identity of the rotmeth poisoner and followed them to a cavern, where he overheard the bosmer responsible being lectured for not poisoning the right batch (the one that would have affected the most people).

Mogdurz gra-Durog and Sylras Nightshade joined him in returning to the cavern. They attempted to reason with the bandits, but at every step of the way it became clear that the only language they'd understand was blood. When the poisoner was finally within reach, the bandits offered to give him up in exchange for their lives, but when Sylras suggested that Krolg demand their gold and goods as well, they refused and attacked.

After a battle in which Sylras slit the throat of one bandit, and Mogdurz impaled another on her sword, Krolg claimed the bosmer who had poisoned the Green Leaf's rotmeth and escorted him back to the tavern. Tying a vine around the bosmer's ankles, he hoisted him into the air over a branch, for the chef and tavern's patrons to exact whatever punishments were necessary.

Epherus was reading a book about disenchantments, when Mogdurz entered and asked him about the book. They spoke at length about magic and their skill at it before the tavern began to fill up. Many people, even more than usual, came to eat, drink and enjoy themselves. Though the conversation tended toward the events in Cyrodiil, opinions on bosmeri cuisine, and an awkward mention of the Wild Hunt, at which many bosmer became unusually quiet, Epherus eventually mentioned that he'd seen a Spinner in town who claimed his staff was talking to him, leading him to a "great destiny". The conversation turned then, for a moment, toward the fact that Spinners sometimes lose their minds due to their prophetic insights. The Spinner had last been seen going off toward the nearby Ayleid ruin with a local ranger.

I hope everyone had a good time. Today everyone (about 8 or 9 people) hopped on the chance for a minor plotline and it was a little chaotic, with a few different ideas of what was going on / how we were doing it. I'm really sorry that I wasn't more clear about my intentions with the story, but I also have to excuse myself somewhat because I was dealing with a lot of RL stress. Apparently Thursdays, my main RP days, are now family days as well.

Anyway, we did get through the RP, here is the summary.

7/3/14

A bosmer woman had rushed into the Green Leaf Tavern, frantically searching for her child. The boy had chased after birds while in the market, and when she turned away he was gone.

Epherus, Zallis and Rhael were the first to comfort the woman and offer their help in searching for her child. Soon nearly the entirety of the tavern's patrons was searching Cormount. Eventually Rhael discovered a large black feather, which could only have belonged to a hagraven. Many connected the dots, and though there was much arguing about how to approach the matter, they eventually settled on splitting up into groups, combing through the woods on their way toward the only known hagraven territories. Leorin and his group investigated Boar's Run Overlook (requires overview of events), while Epherus' group headed toward the The Mage's stone to the south. As Epherus' had expected, hagravens were found not far from the stone. As his group approached, the creatures screeched and cursed at them. When Galien leaned in to whisper to Epherus, the hags attacked, uncomfortable with the display of secrecy. Thankfully the other group arrived in time to help dispatch the two hagravens, and they found the child unharmed in the back of their tent.

Epherus believed there was more to the story, they hadn't intended to keep the child at their small camp for long, it seemed as if he was in the process of being moved to another location. The group followed Epherus onward to The Mage's stone, where they had a view of a hagraven hut. As they approached they decided it would be best to be cautious. Galien performed a detect life spell and confirmed that there were four hagravens inside the hut, along with three smaller humanoids. Leorin performed a spell to lure the hagravens out of the hut, an illusion of one of the children escaping. Two of the hagravens chased after the illusion and were caught off guard by the collection of mer.

The two female bosmer charged into the hut to save the children, one paralyzing a hagraven, the other leaving a rune of fearing which affected another, who then cowered, holding her hands over her eyes. Epherus cast a spell of burdening upon another hagraven, sending it to the floor with a thud. Leorin took the opportunity to use another illusion spell, and the frightened hagraven believed it saw an escape route, taking it gladly only to fall off the cliff to it's death. The fourth hagraven shot a firebolt out at Epherus, but was blinded by a flash of Galien's magical light. The other altmer, Leorin, shoved Epherus out of the way, likely saving his life at the risk of a singed robe. Once the bosmer females got the children to safety, they returned. One slit the throat of the hagraven who had attacked Epherus, but now the one affected by the male bosmer's burdening spell was lifting itself from the ground. Epherus stood and walked toward the creature, holding his staff toward it. Lightning magic sprung from his staff and surged through the vile creature, killing it. One hagraven remained, the one who had been paralyzed. The group dragged the creature away to be taken prisoner and questioned. Galien found a location suitable to initiate a portal, and brought everyone safely and quickly back to Cormount, where the children were returned and the hagraven was brought before the Treethane.
